Aki Packaging

New postby xxtjaxx » Sat Nov 14, 2009 6:52 am

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to do the packages for aki in debian and ubuntu if I get the virtual machine for it going.
I would like to encourage others to do the same for their favourite distribution. Spread Aki!

I also do the bangarang packages for ubuntu currently on my sidux machine but it is a hell of a mess with the version names that differ between distros. Please keep that in mind when setting up your new packages.
From that I figgured that it works quite nice when you make a clone of the project on gitorious and just clone this to your machine hack onit commit your packaging changes to the clone and get the code by git pull aki: master (plese see the pull url on the website).
Have fun hacking it all together.

If you come into the situation that you get patches against your tree from someone in your distruibution either try to apply them in you tree first see if they work out and then forward them upstream. Needless to say that this improves the stabillity and quality of code exchange.

Cheers,

Andreas Marschke.
